Soon after Dehninet’s arrival at Emmanuel House, it was obvious that she had a number of behavioral problems. Locating her family was actually the easy part in this situation, for we felt we had to help Dehninet instead of just sending her home straight away. While it was a struggle for us, we continued working for the betterment of her behaviour, in order for her to have the social skills needed to function on a daily basis. Once we at NOLM were able to all agree that her behavioral problems were addressed, we immediately contacted her family through the local police in their area. Unfortunately, her mother was unable to come to the station on the day of the meeting, but our team made sure Dehninet had a relative to stay with until her mother's return.
