Amsalu’s father had been to Addis a couple of times, looking for his lost daughter. He gave her to people who he was confident would take care of her and he felt he was affording her a better chance at life. Unfortunately, the woman he trusted did Amsalu wrong and Amsalu runaway. Her family had given up hope and never in a million years would they have imagined her coming back home. her return was a Christmas miracle. Although we contacted them through the phone and told them that Amsalu was safe with us and that we would bring her back, they didn’t believe it until they saw her in person, touched her, hugged her and made sure it was all real. This was a big lesson to the whole family and the neighborhood as a whole and we are glad that others were able to learn from this story.
