A reminder

It’s been over a year since Fanaye was sent to the Emmanuel House through the police. She was physically abused and was waiting her turn to testify in court against her abuser/previous employer. after a very long wait and some effort, we found out that the case was closed because her abuser was nowhere to be found. The changes we witnessed in Fanaye (both physical & behavioral) during her stay with us are tremendous. Although she left her home when she was just a child, every turn is imprinted in her mind. Without any ups and downs, she led our team straight to her home where her family greeted us with extreme joy. Her mother was so happy that at one point, she was unconscious. Unless witnessed in person, it’s very hard to describe the magnitude of pleasure, tears and emotions that constituted this reunification. Reunifications like this remind us of the true value of our work.
