Eskedar has been a part of our program since 2012. When Eskedar first joined our program, her mother had to carry her to the weekly parties because of the problem she had with her leg. With the help of NOLM, she was able to have surgery at one of the renounced hospitals here in Addis. Shortly after her surgery, Eskedar started to walk half way home, play football and do other things that she couldn’t before. Now, she walks all the way to the Emmanuel House and back (at least a one hour walk each way). Eskedar’s mother bought a calf with the money she received for her IGA and sells milk to earn a living. Eskedar is pictured here with Jimmy Gross, Co-Founder and Co-Director of NOLM.
